House of Skulls was inspired by the sculptures of Norm Grabowski. If you are a gear head, an automotive art collector or just a child of the cool car generation, then you are well aware of Norm and his work. You also know that there is absolutely no substitute for a "Norm Skull!" After years of drooling, I finally bought one of Norm's skulls for my tricked out '89 Silverado. My plan was to buy a second skull for my everyday rat ride Silverado. I even went as far as installing a 23" tall floor shift to capture the feeling of an Ed Roth gear slammin' character. However, after getting my original Norm skull home I just couldn't put it in my truck . . . hell, this was a work of art by a true automotive legend and had go in my display case. This created a problem. I still wanted the one-of-a-kind skull shift knobs for my trucks . . . but to buy two more of Norm's skulls was out of my price range . . . and besides I would probably just wind up putting them in the display case as well. That's when I decided to attempt carving my own skulls. After finishing skulls for my two trucks I began carving skulls for family and friends. Then a couple of other gear heads asked me to create skulls for them . . . and that's how House of Skulls came about. I have discovered that working with these skulls is very relaxing for me and for that reason I continue making them and experimenting with different woods and finishes. And every now and then I sell one which helps pay for the materials. I've even been known to do a little bartering. So come on in, take a look around and enjoy.
